A secure stand at an affordable price for any bass clarinet.
The Hercules Stands DS560B for bass clarinet is both stable and affordable. The stand features two yokes for the bell section, is height adjustable, has swivel legs, and a peg hole. The two yokes secure the bell of the instrument in place and provide a stable rest for the entire instrument. This section is also height adjustable for bass clarinets with or without and endpin. Swivel legs make the stand fit easily into tight spaces around other important equipment. For expansion purposes the stand features a peg hole. A Hercules Stands peg for a Bb clarinet or other instrument is sold separately.

As someone who plays regularly in a community band, I was thrilled to find this stand. Normally sites push bassoon stands for use with a bass clarinet, but they just don't quite work right. With adjustment, my low E-flat clarinet fits perfectly. This saves me from having to adjust my clarinet all of the time due to the instrument having been laid on its side.
At first I was impressed with the light weight of this stand compared to my K & M. However, the bell is about 1 foot from the floor, so the longer low C bass is way up in the air. When I took it to play in the pit in a show, it was so far up that the stage director complained that it was obstruction the sight-lines to the stage; I had to take it down and lay my Selmer bass on the floor! It's also harder to get the horn out for quick changes when doubling. I'm going to have to go back to my heavy K & M which at least doesn't have these problems. I'm very disappointed in this product.
My only disappointment with this stand is that no where in the description does it mention that it has a predrilled hole for adding pegs to hold other instruments. (I would have ordered the additional Hercules Peg.) I searched many different websites looking for a bass clarinet stand that would also hold my Bb and A clarinets. I finally settled for this one because of the price and the shape. (With the legs not sitting flush to the ground, I thought it might be possible to drill holes to add pegs.)
