The #1 light piston oil works wonders on tight valves like on my new Marcinkiewicz. Thicker oils make the valves much slower.
This stuff is the best ever. I have a Bach Strad 37 and the Light Piston Oil works well. My valves are the fastest I've ever seen them. The Light Slide oil for the 1st and 3rd Slides is an awesome product as well. I used to use slide grease and oil, but I was never satisfied with the way the speed was. The Light Slide oil instantly solved that issue. As soon as I put it on, they were smooth, fast, and most importantly they don't hang up! I don't care for the dropper that comes with it though, but I'm hooked on Hetmans!
I have used Hetman's light rotor oil on all 3 of my Bach bass trombones, (LT50B30G, LT50BL, and my new baby, the huge LT50T3GL) and have never had any sluggish valve movements. It works very well, even on my picky Thayer valves. No strong "oil" smell. Great product with which you will be satisfied. The eye dropper makes applying the oil clean and easy. Make sure though that you have room when using the bottle as it tips over easily when full, (I lost half a bottle of oil when I knocked it over once).
I have been playing trumpet for over 40 years and this is the best oil by far. Instead of oiling my valves at least once every time I play, I now just put a drop on each valve once a week. I have tried many brands including another brand of synthetic that came out around 5-6 years ago. None have even come close to this oil,in fact I have given multiple half used bottles of different brands away since I feel that I have found the best oil(for me).
I use this oil on all of my horns , from jazz gigs on my Bach Bb, to orchestral concerts on my Yamaha C, to chamber concerts on my Schilke pic. By far, the best valve oil I've ever used.
