Comments about Hohner 9522 2 Piece Maple Soprano Baroque Recorder:
This is a great instrument for the money. It has a warm, deep sound, slightly more dull than the plastic sopranos I own. It has a straight windway and uses Baroque fingering. It's a rather basic 2 piece design- meaning that the lowest tone holes cannot be adjusted to fit your hand- but it's rather comfortable. There is no oil finish on the instrument, like the picture shows; it is bare wood. You will need to oil it inside and out before playing it, and all of the usual maintenance for a wood instrument applies. The case is a simple plastic bag, and offers no protection whatsoever (my case came ripped at the bottom). If you need to transport it, wrap it in something soft or get a hard case.
