Perfect for Rath R9

Comments about Humes & Berg 199 Bass Trombone Large Bore Cup Mute:

Perfect fit in my Rath R9 with 9.5" bell. Cup comes to about 1/4" of the bell for a tight fiber cup mute sound without filing the corks. For a larger bell or a more open sound you might build up the corks to push the cup further out. As is on the R9, the muted horn is fairly well in tune with no wolf notes in the low range, which can be a common cup mute problem.
