I just started, this is my first bass. I borrowed a heavy thick neck fender to start. Ready to play out of the box with tuning. Fast thin neck, thin rounded body, lower frets use less pressure that raised, lighter weight than classic basses, the "E" just rumbles on forever. Knobs for just about any adjustments to style of playing or accoustics needed. I'm happy with the strings and pick ups that came on it. Get a new cable, the one that comes with it works, but you will want a monster. Great choice and price for a starter. You get more than what you expect for the price. Compare with others in price range. WWBW is a great place to shop and very helpful.
This bass is the bomb because of, literally everything!!!
1: The woods: Mahogany is a great type of wood for a bass because it boosts its tone
2: NECK: the neck is thin and fast and it has five layers so it can take on many climate changes.
3: FRETS: 24 frets so you can explore and it
also has beautiful abalone inlays.
4: PICKUPS!!!: BARTOLINI PUPS help make the sound great. Its nice the guitar has Bartolini pups from the factory so you don't have to go and buy nicer expensive pups for your guitar
5: BARTOLINI MK1 3-band!: the 3-band helps you get ANY tone you want. like the low slappy rock to that punchy high funk.
this bass is truly a bass players bass
The most beautiful, strong, clean & perfected guitar in the whole wide world.
It so delicate and comfortable, and the sound will bomb your block with its presence.
I just bought it and I love it.
I looked for many guitars in this price range and its absolutely the best guitar.
Very comfortable neck and a wide range of sounds with the EQ.
I've had the SR500 for over a year now and let me tell you, this bass is flawless in tone. You get everything from fierce bottom end to nice mellow piano like mids. I put some Fender nylon wounds on this thing and it still sounds like my ceiling is about to cave in.
The ONLY flaw about this bass is that it's not made for popping and slapping. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great but everythime my fingernails hit the body I end up gouging out some wood. But to me it does not matter, this bass is THE bass for me, and Im not going to sell it.
It's the lightest bass I ever held and the neck is so super thin it feels as if Im playing air bass.
Get this bass, and try out the Fender nylon wounds. They're a good match.
