How much does international shipping cost?

International shipping is calculated based on a number of factors including the desired service level (Standard/Express), the number of items you are purchasing, the weight of the items and the destination country/region. International shipping will be calculated and guaranteed during the global checkout based on the items you are purchasing and your shipping destination.

Below is a summary of delivery promises for our international orders. You will be quoted a specific delivery promise at the time of checkout that is based on your selected destination country and the shipping methods available for the items in your shopping cart.

WWBW International Return Policy:

You can initiate a return for a full refund for most new and unopened items* by requesting a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) within 45 days of delivery. We must receive your returned items at our processing facility within 60 days of delivery.

*Non-Returnable Items

  • Copy-protected material such as sheet music, videos, software, sample libraries
  • Recording media and computers: cassettes, reels, DAT tapes, minidiscs, CDRs
  • Drumheads, drumsticks, cleaning and care products, rosin, tubes, strings
  • Reeds, harmonicas, pitch pipes, earplugs and other in-ear monitors
  • Products special-ordered from a manufacturer for an individual customer
  • Apple products may not be returned to The Woodwind & Brasswind under any circumstances. You must contact Apple, Inc. directly for any returns.

All returned woodwind and brass instruments are assessed a $10.00 sterilization fee. Instruments priced over $3,000.00 are assessed a $20.00 fee.

All mouthpieces and bows are assessed a $4.00 fee. Mouthpieces priced over $300 are assessed an $8.00 fee.

Microphones, wireless products, recording equipment (multitrack, hard disk, DAT, CD, tape recorders and duplicators) are returnable for store credit only.

You must return items in new or unused condition with all materials originally included such as cables and manuals. The Woodwind & Brasswind inspects all returned items and applies a partial refund for damaged or used products. Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs except if the return results from an error on our part or from receipt of a defective product. In those cases we refund shipping charges.

Please allow up to four weeks for receipt of your refund. Refunds are issued in the same form as the method of payment originally used. We will notify you by email with your refund status.

Exchanges:

In the event you request an exchange, any taxes or duty you may have paid on the original item will be refunded to you. Exchange requests are handled like returns on international orders. In order to obtain an exchange, you must place a new order for the new item and return the item you wish to exchange for a refund. We will then recover any taxes or duty you paid on the original item and issue a refund to you for its cost plus any taxes or duty you paid. Please allow up to 4 weeks from the time you ship your return for receipt of your refund.

How to Return an Item:

You must contact The Woodwind & Brasswind within 45 days of the receipt of your order to obtain a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Both your order number and RMA must be visible on the outside of the return package and the original packing list must be enclosed, or credit will not be issued for the return. Please keep the invoice that was included in your order as it may be required for some returns.

Returned bows are assessed a $4.00 restocking fee. Instruments priced over $3,000.00 are assessed a $20.00 restocking fee. All returned woodwind and brass instruments incur a $10.00 sanitization fee. Returned mouthpieces priced over $300 incur an $8.00 sanitization fee; the fee for mouthpieces under $300 is $4.00.

The Woodwind & Brasswind is not responsible for any lost or damaged returns. We recommend that you choose a carrier that offers package tracking and insurance for your shipment. Your refund will be made at the exchange rate in effect at the time of your purchase and will include any custom tariffs and taxes originally paid on the order.

What is the amount of duties and taxes charged on international orders?

Duty (or customs tariffs) is set by the destination country customs authorities and is determined based on a combination of the country of origin or manufacturing of the goods being purchased, and the classification of that merchandise in accordance with a harmonized system adopted and used by the countries that we support. Value Added Tax (VAT) rates are set by the destination country. You will be able to view the guaranteed total amount of applicable duty and tax/VAT for your order within the global checkout.

How will I know the total cost of my International order?

I live in the U.S., can I ship an order internationally but pay in U.S. Dollars (USD)?

Yes, you can receive a guaranteed order total for an order that is shipping internationally, but pay in USD using a U.S. credit card. This also works if you're an American traveling or living abroad.
