One word, awesome. I had talked to my private instructor about getting some better mutes and this one was on sale and was also recommended by Bach Brass as mutes that the sell so I just had to get one. The second I put it into my horn the sound just soared. It speaks well in all registers, low and high which made me as giddy as a school girl (I had a Humes and Berg one and it stoped a g on the bottom of the staff). This particular one with the copper bottom is especially good for symphonic settings because it does not hinder your dynamic capablities allowing fortissimo or higher to sound as good as it is unmuted. So if your big into the orchestral or grand band music this is definietly the mute to go with as well as the brand. (Jo Ral 6L Tenor Trombone Cup Mute is another review I wrote. Check that out as well if looking for a cup mute, though only for 8 1/2 or larger inch bells).
This mute is the best on the market without question. It has a great warm tone! The cork is MUCH more durable than any other I have ever tested. It is designed so you can play with a great musical sound in every register. Compared to other mutes, this is much easier to use in the lower and higher ranges because of its acoustical design.
