The adjustable Jo-Ral TRB-6S Tenor Trombone Cup Mute creates an exciting tonal quality with near-perfect intonation. They are made of spun aluminum, and have been tested to perform evenly in all registers.
For bell diameter less than 8-1/2". With its unique shape, this all-aluminum cup mute produces a smoother, richer sound for tenor trombones. Lined with a neoprene rubber rim that eliminates vibrations, the adjustable cup will never loosen or drop off. It is easily installed by simply moving the cup up to the desired length for a tight fit. The corks may be reshaped for optimal acoustical placement.

Comments about Jo-Ral TRB-6S Tenor Trombone Cup Mute:
Be Careful. This mute should only be used in very small trombones. It is a little too small for my Yamaha 697Z with it's 7 1/2 inch bell. It is a bit too stuffy with it's "tight cup". It might be OK on a King 2B or smaller trombone. The sound is good and the general construction of the mute is good, EXCEPT for poorly glued mute corks. On the first time I used the mute, one cork fell off. I had to use epoxy glue to repair it. It was Ok for about a week when the second cork fell off. I repaired that, but had to buy replacement corks since the other fell somewhere unknown. Less than a month later, the last cork fell off. I haven't repaired it yet. The glue used by Jo-Ral is inadequate to hold mute corks on the smooth aluminum mute surface. I find that the Dennis Wick Adjustable cup mute works better, not only on all my small bore horns, but even on a .547 Edwards. The Dennis Wick sound is also good. Bottom line, I recommend not buying the Jo-Ral TRB 6S.
