I actually have used one of these because IÆm in tealsound ... one of the 2 drum corps using these... and they r excellent... the intonation is obvious ... but it is really only the low C that bothers me the most... but I never have to play that low so who cares lol!!! Great instrument I think... it is very hand balanced and I love the tone... I love rather go with this than the Yamaha 204 to be honest because of the tone and the valves r easier to move and seamless compared to the Yamaha 204......great horn!!!

Overall, I like the Quantum. Its scale isnÆt as even as the Yamaha and there are some intonation concerns. On the plus side, the Quantum is better balanced ergonomically and produces a very pleasing tone quality. If I had a choice between a Quantum 5050 and a Yamaha 204, I would choose the Yamaha 204. However, I would have no hesitation about performing with a Quantum if I were a member of an ensemble featuring them.
