After borrowing and playing nickel student flutes (all closed hole) I needed to buy my own. As a clarinetist for so many years, a closed hole flute was not going to fit the bill. I tried several other brands similar to this but none compared to the sleek shine and quality the Jupiter 711 series produced. The mouthpiece contours are perfect for hitting the highest C to the lowest B.

I have had my Jupiter for the last 7 or 8 years, and I love it! I stepped-up from a nickel plated horn, and loved the sweet tone that the solid silver horn produces. I mainly play it in church, but it plays beautifully. I would definitely recommend Jupiter to both hobbyists and avid players alike. Great horn for a reasonable price!

I received the Jupiter 711RBSO as a Christmas gift 2 Christmases ago and I love it. I play it everyday, whether it’s just noodling around on it while watching TV, or serious practice in front of a stand, or in Band class, I love it to DEATH. The quality is amazing and it has helped my tone quality SO much from the piece-of-junk I was playing on before. I was third chair in freshman band before I got this flute, and by the time 2nd semester rolled around I tried out for the top band at my school and made it, and now I’m sitting 1st chair, and I owe it ALL to this flute. It’s SUPER easy to play on and the open holes are easy to get used to, and it doesn’t even feel like they are open usually. I personally went directly from a covered hole flute to all fingers open, and have never looked back. This is a GREAT FLUTE at a decent price, and I’m sure it will last a life time.

I've had my Jupiter 711 for about 2 years now and it still plays very well. The action is almost perfectly fluid and the tone produced from the solid silver body and head is excellent, allowing for many different tone colors and characteristics. My only complaints at this point would be that the scale of the flute seems to be slightly off around C and D, and the pads on mine make much more noise than is desirable, and have been sticking pretty frequently. Other than these things, it is a great flute for its value and it allows the evolving player the ability to experiment with different aspects of tone. The open holes add a lot to the overall quality as well.
