This sax is absolutely great! I have always played my schools' tenor until I saved up enough to buy one myself and absolutely couldn't be happier! It has a great sound and is perfect for any kind of music: classical or jazz or whatever! I am thinking of buying an alto sax and the first place that I will look on this site is under Jupiter. They have really got it down when it comes to saxophones. I would recommend it to anyone. The only problem is the mouthpiece; you may need one considering that the stock mouthpiece that comes with the instrument tends to give it a sort of 'bite' tone.
I think this Sax has amazing sound quality and once used to the feel of it, it?s a very usable and nice saxophone to play.
This saxophone has awesome tone and sound. With it I can play jazz, blues or any kind of music and sound great. It?s easy to play and sounds awesome! Great buy!
This horn is perfect for players in the intermediate level or higher. However in the description it says that it is a student saxophone. It is not a student saxophone it is just not fully intermediate. When I purchased this saxophone I was alarmed and worried that it would not be any good.I was wrong. It was great. not only does it have a beutiful tone but as well a resonal price.
I had one of the older ones once. Same model but the spatula keys were stationary, (like on an SBA) and there was no engraving. I was taking time off of the stage and worked the National Parks for awhile with this particular horn in hand. In Yosemite before the big flood in '96, we lived in tents where everything you owned was exposed to the elements at all times. When I left there, me and 3 other guys embarked on a road trip to the Florida Keys. After that, I left on foot to hitch-hike back across the country to Phoenix where this horn eventually got ripped off. An interesting summer was had by all in many respects but a bad one none-the-less because I lost a good horn and it was the same time that Jerry died. All in all, this horn traveled with me through every kind of weather. I played it in the snow, played it on the beach, played it in the desert, in clubs, in front of gas stations, truck stops, etc. Rainbow Gatherings, Barter Fairs, Dead Shows. New Orleans clubs and street corners. You name it, that horn saw it all with me that year. I never exposed it to the rain, but did expose it to everything else, literally. I played it with a Berg Larsen Stainless 115/1 with Rico Royal 3's and the entire time I had it, it was wrapped in a blanket with the neck, mouthpiece, strap and reeds in my backpack. I was alot younger then and wouldn't even think of putting any of my horns through that kind of abuse now, but it was the hayday of my life and the hayday for that horn. It played beautifully across the board the whole time and although it saw everything there was to see, it NEVER once, ever saw the inside of a shop. I've never had another horn like it and probably never will again. An amazing horn to say the least with an amazing tone. A true Saxophone at it's finest!
