Description
Incredibly stable and very sturdy. The desk is wider and deeper than other folding stands and raises to a full 65 inches. Will hold with confidence the heaviest of books even on grass with the wind blowing! Available in two colors, black and nickel. Carrying bag is model 10711 (item number 81467).

K&M Extra Heavy Duty Music Stand
The 10700 Extra Heavy Duty Folding Music Stand features an adjustable angle desk that is 9.45 inches tall and 19 inches wide plus a height adjustment from 26.7 inches to 57.8 inches. The 10700 also features a non-marring height adjustment to prevent the stand from sliding down when full of music and folds to 26.7 inches for easy transportation.

"There is no better folding stand"

I use these stands with my groups in some of the most challenging venues, from the steps of the rotunda of San Francisco Hall to the windswept cliffs of the California coast. This stand holds up to every challenge. On steps, you can make the footprint very small and the stand remains stable, even extended to its fullest height. They also withstand severe wind gusts without falling over. They are also durable, holding up to constant travel and use. Their only drawback is that the shelf is still too narrow for large binders.

My wife and I are in an organized group and we also do free lance gigs. I bought this stand after seeing one at a rehearsal. I liked it so much I purchased a second stand for my wife. It's strong, sturdy and easy to transport. Will hold all your charts from loose leaf to large stuffed binders. I recommend buying it with the carrying case that has a shoulder strap. The desk tilts to any angle and the stand will adjust in height for standing or sitting. If you've ever had to drag around a music stand that has a solid desk and fixed legs, you're going to love this one. It's a bit more expensive than most stands but you get what you pay for. Great investment.

"Decent stand, but not "heavy duty""

I bought this stand because it claimed to be "heavy duty" and so that's what I expected. To me, heavy duty is along the lines of a Manhasset stand - heavy and bulletproof. To be honest, this stand is only slightly heavier than one of those low-cost music stands so it fails on that point. To be fair, the stand does have a lot of adjustments and will hold a (as in, one) book fairly high which is what I need, but add a little weight to it and it gets pretty tippy. I need a stand that is extremely stable, and this doesn't quite measure up, but it's not bad.

I use the stand in my string trio, my Dixieland band, my smooth jazz band, my brass ensemble, and my solo guitar gigs. Hymnals to fake books, this is a wonderful stand. Doesn't take much room to store either.

"Most rugged folding music stand I know of"

This is the most rugged folding music stand I know of and its performance justifies the higher selling price. The stand is somewhat heavy, but that gives stability in windy conditions. The tripod legs can be spread way out for greater stability or less so when space is limited. The height and desk angle are easily adjustable with the oval knobs. My only complaint is that the shelf depth is minimal - I've had no problem but if you use a very large, deep book, you may. It is a bit tricky to unfold the first few times you do it, but practice makes perfect. There is no real substitute for a fixed desk stand, but this one comes very close and works very well.
