This is a very good stand. I purchased the 4 leg stand that fits in the bell. It fits perfectly. My only complaint is that this stand is not quite as sturdy as the 3 leg stand, but I haven't had any problems yet. I definitely recommend this to anyone.
The "fits-in-the-bell" four-legged clarinet stand is great; just cut off the very tip of the plastic cone that actually holds up the instrument if it doesn't fit in your case. The mod has absolutely no effect on the functioning of the stand, and the whole deal now fits in the case with the instrument. The tips of the legs stick out a little past the chopped end of the cone, but they fit in the case much better than the whole cone. K & M stuff is sturdy & generally well-designed.
I should have read the reviews before I ordered, because the 4 legged stand is too long when folded to fit in a standard case. There are some cases (mostly doubles) where the bell stays attached to the lower finger joint, and that would work fine, but the point end of the stand protrudes about an inch or so out of the bell, so that the bell won't drop into the case properly.
I recently purchased the tripod version and really like its sturdiness and dependability when it holds my clarinet.
I ordered the 4-leg model a year ago, and it's served me very well. It's a bit longer than the bell, so in order for the stand to store inside, you have to have the right type of case. The buffet case I had worked because the barrel is placed inline next to the bell, so the stand can protrude into the barrel. I highly recommend it. I just got the 3-leg model for my A clarinet. It turns out that it is hardly more stable than the 4-leg model at all; I did some calculations and there's about 2 degrees of difference. Just get the 4-leg model. It's perfectly stable, and even if it doesn't fit in your case, it's still more compact.
