About a year ago, I purchased a solid silver flute. Silver is wonderful, but it will scratch if you look at it funny. I play flute and piccolo and needed a safe place to put my new (and really expensive) flute where it wouldn't fall or get scratched, so I bought this stand. It is very sturdy and will not fall over unless you really try to knock it over or hit it with something like your chair (hey, it happens...). It also folds up to something about the size of a magic marker. I also have the piccolo stand and I use them all the time. I recommend them to all of my students to get them in the habit of taking care of their instruments and not putting them on the shelf of their music stands. Parents like this idea and are willing to buy them.

I ordered one for one of the schools that I teach at about 2 years ago and was pleasantly surprised that it was small, foldable, and very sturdy!! While playing in the flute section at the local college this past Christmas, other flutists in the group liked it and purchased them for themselves. I am now ordering (now that they are on sale) for both schools enough for all my students to have one during rehearsals and to get them in the habit of taking care of their instruments. I strongly recommend this flute stand!!

This is the best flute stand that I have ever seen. Collapsible, so if fits in your case (if you have a outershell or bag). (I don't understand why some flutists have those huge peg boards for their flute. That is just awkward to carry around). I have never had it tip over. It is much safer than putting your flute on your chair, because people tend to walk by and hit it. By using the stand, you can put your flute right by your music stand, so it is out of the way and no one will bump into it. It is also very useful if you switch instruments. No more worrying about if your flute will roll off of your lap! In high school, I used it to hold my flute when I was playing piccolo in concert band. Now I use it mainly when I play bass flute for flute choir. It is also better for your flute! Since you are not holding it, you will not get as much dirt from your hands on your flute. You also have less of a chance of your rods bending. Overall, this is awesome. Good for you, good for your flute!

"3 leg better than 4"

I have the four leg stand for my flute and the three leg stand for my piccolo and the piccolo stand is so much sturdier. The flute stand doesn’t have rubber on the bottom so it slides around on stage.

I bought the flute stand about a year ago because I played piccolo in band and in only one song needed to play flute. I found out it is really hard to balance your flute in your lap while playing. This product works great it is safe to put your flute on. I recommend this to any flute and piccolo player. FIVE STARS!!!
