K&M Rainbow Music Stand

When searching for a good, yet portable music stand, musicians are usually left with few options. The K&M Freedom stand addresses this need perfectly. The Freedom is far more stable and adjustable, yet it retains the lightweight, portable qualities necessary for both students and most working musicians. The large, rectangular holding surface beautifully accommodates music folios of all weights and sizes, thanks in part to the adjustable page holders mounted on the top rather than bottom of the stand. The fun colors also make it appealing to younger musician as well. The addition of the proprietary carrying case makes transport of the Freedom even more convenient. While nothing can completely replace a Wenger Bravo or Manhasset MH48 music stand for performance needs, the bulk inherent to these types of stands make their transport often cumbersome and impractical for most musicians. If you need a stable and adjustable music stand, while maintaining the ease of transport along side your instrument, I believe the K&M Freedom music stand is by far the best way to go.

This stand is very flexible in use. Mine extends 52 inches, and that's to the top of the rod section. The top of your music could be at 64 inches. I tried placing a three ring binder on it when fully extended. It will hold up fine, but on a wooden stage, it would sway. At a typical height, it is very steady. It holds pages very well compared to a typical wire stand. The desk can be positioned at any angle up to about 45 degrees. With a heavy book, you would not want it that far back, especially at full height or without a leg directly behind. For practical purposes, it will do everything a typical wire stand would do and then give you extra flexibility and quality of build.
