Ok, I used to have a 3 legged stand for my trumpet but it kept falling over when I took my horn off. So I got this one with five legs, its far more stable and just as compact.
Any serious player (continuing after first year) needs a stand for playing and practicing, whether writing in notes, or picking up another instrument this is the STANDARD and best stand and for the money you cant go wrong
probably the only piece of equipment that you cant go wrong with
works with Bb, C, trumpets or even cornet
not picciolo or Flugel
EVERYone i know uses this stand, i just got one and im very happy
Love being able to store it in the bell.
K&M stands are excellent, and it's a convenient and safe way to store your horn during rehearsals and gigs. Every trumpet player should have one.
A nice useful piece of equipment. The legs fold into the stand and the whole thing fits in the trumpet bell. Easy to use, I like it!
I use it for Jazz Band and it works great! It does fit in the bell of the horn while the trumpet is in the case, but it is a little difficult to get the trumpet out with the weight of the stand in the horn. I put it in my case separately. It holds the trumpet very well and is stable as long as nothing bumps into it. It is a great practice tool and if you think you will be able to use it only every now and then, you will end up using it every practice session.
Love this thing. Buy it now, I doubt you could find a better deal elsewhere. The top three players in my section use it for Jazz Band,Pep Band, concerts, and in regular practices. I also know multiple professionals who carry it wherever their instruments go. It fits right in the bell so transporting it isn't an issue. The only downside is that it leaves a indent in my case infront of the bell, but that might not be a problem for anyone else's. It's freakin awesome.
When I first got this stand i was a little bit skeptical about how it would hold up compared to some other ones but when i got it it showed supreme superiority over any other stand that i could find. it has been so popular that in my jazz band the majority of the trumpet section has this stand not even considering the other guys. This is a must have stand if you play often or very little and just pick up your horn from time to time. Even all middle school-highschool players need one of these. Don't get one if you are in elementary school as they are a little bit pricy and you may not be sure about playing in the future but otherwise go for it.
I bought a new K&M 5-leg trumpet stand a couple months ago to replace my old K&M 3-leg stand, which I now keep with a cornet I use only occasionally.
The new 5-leg stand is much more stable due to the additional legs, but that should be obvious to anyone. The other improvements are the attachement hardware, which makes the legs base on this unit less likely to slip from the body of the stand, and the stand's top rubber tip, which helps prevent bell damage in the event you slightly "miss" the stand when putting your trumpet on it.
I use this stand constantly at every gig. If it lasts anywhere near as long as my previous stand has (years and years) it will have been more than worth the purchase price. It is a little heavier than the old stand, but believe me it is worth the extra bit of weight in your case.
This stand is by far the best quality one I've ever had. I am not sure if this is new, but the one i received has a rubber tip to the portion that fits in the bell to prevent dents. It is a very solid stand that will not break and fits inside the bell for easy storage. The 5 legs are MUCH more stable than other 3 and 4 leg stands I've had. This stand is a must have for every trumpet player. Buy this, you will not be disappointed.
