OVERVIEW

Bergeron Inspired!

The Model 1600 was developed with Los Angeles big band and studio work in mind. It sounds warm and lyrical in the staff, but will really sizzle in the upper register when you want it to. Easy blowing and agile, this trumpet features a lightweight yellow brass bell carefully balanced with a special mouthpipe and medium large bore. Formerly known as the "WB" Model, this trumpet was designed for the fabulous Wayne Bergeron whose sound can be heard on numerous soundtracks, jingles and the Big Phat Band. A Zig Kanstul Signature trumpet!

Never looked back...

I own this in silver-plate. First thing I noticed was the immediate response and openness (I had previously played Blessing). It is SO easy to produce a sound on this compared to my old Blessing. This trumpet produces a very mellow sound in the register, and can light up and sizzle above. There is no limit to the amount of air this horn can take, either, and it projects like no other. I compared this alongside a Schilke B6 (M bore ML bell) and found them virtually identical in playing capability (Schilke was slightly lighter, however). Combined with my GR 62S mouthpiece, I have never looked back.

ONE OF THE BEST HORNS MADE!!

I have been playing trumpet for about 2 years professionally now and have played on many horns. This horn is a very nice horn the slots well from a pedal C all the way up to a triple G and projects unlike any other horn of its price range..I would consider this trumpet to be in the same class as some of the lower end Blackburn and moment models

thee lead horn

I have had my 1600 for a year (from Tulsa). I had no intention of buying it (7 day trial). Right from the box this horn played. The valves (lightweight finger buttons) broke in nice and are amazing. I have the scratch brush lacquer and the finish holds up better than silver (no fingerprints). Think of a Bach Strad 72* stripped of all excess weight. A beautiful mid and low ange but as you ascend the bell and leadpipe do what they were made to do.

Excellent Horn

I have played for 35 years including Bach, Benge, Holton and Schilke (4 of them) ... this is the absolute best horn I have ever played. The tone and intonation are superior as is the slotting (particularly in the upper register). The valves are fantastic. The slotting is phenomenal. The horn has a heavier feel to it (than the Schilkes & Yamahas); however, has a laser beam tone in the high end along with a rich beautiful tone in the low end. This horn has a very unique brushed lacquer finish with some nickel as well. I traded a custom gold plated Schilke in for mine and am very very happy with the Bergeron Kanstul ... try one!

Superior Craftsmanship

I drove up to WWBW not intending to buy a new horn and absolutely fell in love with this trumpet. It is absolutely beautiful; the craftsmanship is superior and the sound is fantastic. It plays very open and the slotting is magnificent in the high register. The appearance (finish) is very unique. I've played Bach, Holton, Benge and Schilkes, and this is the best all around horn I have ever played.
