I marched with this last season in my high school's marching band. I t has a fairly good tone out on the field. Down side is it feels a little heavier than most other Marching Bari's.
I marched for Dutch Boy Drum and Bugle Corp during the '08 season, and we used these wonderful horns. Their projection is good and playing it feels natural. The horn is a tad heavy, but at least it feels nice--unlike Yamaha or King horns. (Which seem to require large hands to have that perfect fit.) Plus they're extremely sturdy; we had somebody trip and fall on the bell...it wasn't even folded, just a bit dented!
It's a little heavier than some, but it's more balanced than most, so it doesn't torque the bell down as much.
Intonation is quite good for a marching baritone. It also has the Tune-Any-Note feature, which I LOVE! Intonation is WAY better than the King.
Sound quality is richer and less edgy than Yamaha. When you play it, it sound (to the player) like it's quieter, however, if the bell is pointing at you, there's certainly better projection than most a Yamaha or a Dynasty.
I had problems with the first Kanstul I ever played (a soprano bugle in 1995), but I think they've fixed things since then. I've had Kanstul Marching brass (Marching Tubas, Baritones, a Marching Euph, and Mellos) for 3 years and have never had a problem with the valves.
