Great playing, well in tune with a big dark sound

This is one of the best cornets I have ever played. It is well in tune and very responsive. It is easy to play the light fast passages on the Arban and Clarke solos as the valve action is fantastic. Both the upper and lower range on this horn is great both sound and intonation wise. High F and G are easy and once I got used to the horn the high A was a piece of cake as well. I did find that I cracked notes a little at first when playing very loud, but after a few days of getting used to the large bore of this cornet that went away and never came back. Even with the large bore I still don't have any problem with long phrases or very soft playing. I have found the horn to play very well on my classical work with a mouthpiece with a Bach B cup and playing Dixieland with a slightly shallower mouthpiece. This is a cornet that everyone should take the time to try if they are looking for a great horn at a very reasonable price.
