Your store was recommended by a former music teacher so that I could purchase a quality instrument at a reasonable price, instead of paying the monthly rental fee. After speaking on the phone with a knowledgeable salesman who really seemed to care, we decided the Karl Wilhelm Model 22 Violin would be a good starting point. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of quality for this price, and after having played it for almost two years, it just gets better. The only problem I had was to have the bridge adjusted slightly right after I received it (which my teacher did at a lesson). The violin stays in tune and sounds good. I liked it well enough that I bought one for my daughter after she grew out of her 3/4 violin - and she hasn't had any problems with hers, either. Her violin sounds just as good as or better than mine. The violin comes with an excellent set of strings, and the fine tuners are easy to use. And one other thing - if you've never ordered from Woodwind & Brasswind before - they have exceptional service. I've purchased three violins from them, along with the cases, bows, etc., and have had a bow's string attachment come apart (a new bow was sent right out), and the case for the 3/4 violin started to fall apart - my daughter takes it to school every day - and after a couple of calls an upgraded case was sent to me at no charge. Now I've written enough complaint letters in my time, so it's nice to see a company back up what they sell. All that being said, for three hundred bucks you get a good quality violin with great service. Worked for me...twice!
