Comments about Knilling Maestro Cello Outfit w/ Perfection Pegs:
I finally got my cello yesterday after 4 months of wait. Evidently it is a very popular cello; it was worth the wait! The color was much darker than the picture, not nearly as much red, more brown. It was surprising beautiful. The sound was wonderful and consistent across the strings. I am not going to try to describe the sound as musicians often do but I can't see how anyone could be disappointed. Another quality hard to put in words is that the notes are where they are supposed to be throughout the entire finger board. If you have had a cello that does not have this quality you will know how frustrating that can be. The Perfection Pegs are a nice addition. I have often thought that the old school, traditional friction pegs, were just wrong when we have technology as we do today. It is easier to tune with these and you don't need fine tuners. I have not spent much time with the bow as I prefer the one I have used for a while but the J. Ramey looks cool and feels well balanced. The case is fine and will sufficiently protect this fine instrument. This is a very fine instrument and I hope your experience is as nice as mine. Fred
