I have been playing guitar for several years and I have NEVER found an amp that sounds this amazing, without costing 15-20 times as much. By itself, when pushed all the way it will shake walls. When run through my 2X12 speaker cab with vintage Jensen’s, it sounds like a crate half-stack on about 5, more than enough volume for any gig. volume aside, the sound is HUGE...the clean channel sounds full and clear, and when pushed all the way it gets just a hint of natural tube breakup (think 'Sweet Home Alabama', somewhat similar to a vintage Fender Bassman), and the overdrive is amazing as well, again the more you push it the better it sounds, with a gain similar to Nickleback. The actual level of gain the gain is a little low, but that is easily fixed with a good overdrive pedal, I use a DOD YJM 308, and the amp screams like none other. The downside is there's no footswitch, but again pedals work just fine, and at this price you could always run two amps with an A/B switch.

I bought this amp when I switched from bass to 6 string, and it done me well for jamming with other small amps, and with acoustics. I could run my wife out of the room with the volume, (no, not my playing :) it gets pretty loud. It is very solid, and has nice chrome knobs, and a Celestion to boot. So if you need a nice little practice amp, or something to use for recording as I have, this would be a good choice.

This little amp is solidly built and LOUD. Mine has the tweed cloth and nice looking chrome knobs. If you're NOT within the 99% of guitar players who are anal about sound, it’s a great little practice amp. Sound wise, it needs help. To me, it sounds like there’s a wet towel over it, no matter how you adjust the bass & treble, and I'm using all Gibson, so “the” guitar is NOT the issue. The gain on full is way too much for me; good for that real heavy stuff. Set lower maybe up to 3 is more my style. I would recommend using an MXR 10 band EQ or that new Boss FDR65 pedal in front of it. I have tried both and found a good sound. Overall it’s a decent amp for the money... if you already have any of these pedals I mentioned or similar, you're set.
