The best reed you will ever use or need because the quality is great.
LaVoz alto reeds work really well for me on alto sax combined with a Meyer 6M mpc and a standard Selmer brass gauge lig. They give me the sound, edge and projection I need. I use LaVoz hard on the 6M. Because I play an open mpc on tenor, a metal Otto Link 8* (.115 opening) I use a Rico 2.5 reed. I need the harder reed to drive the Meyer 6M which is a lot closer tip opening than the Link 8*. I use alto mostly to teach but if I was playing more alto than tenor I would still use the LaVoz reeds. Overall I prefer Rico products on saxophone but I do like Vandoren V-12's on clarinet and the blue box Vandoren's on bass clarinet. On bari I used Rico Jazz Select 3M unfiled on a Runyon Custom Spoiler Mpc and yrs ago I used a Rico Royal #2.5 on a old Berg Larsen 120/1 med chamber mpc. Check out my review of orange box Rico reeds for tenor.
I love the sound I get from this reed. I've tried other reeds and they just don't cut it. My saxes are alto and soprano
I really love the sound and clarity you get out of these reeds, mostly jazz. You can really pop and show off your style with these reeds. I prefere the 3 medium.
I switched from rico royal 25 yeas ago and never looked back. Granted there are only 2 or 3 per box that make the grade,(same as rico royal) but they are worth every penny. Ease of playing; low Bb with rich harmonics and altisimo friendly too. They are not what they used to be, but what is, they are still the best I've found with the least amount of break in and the least amount of rush work needed. They make the note pop like no other reed. I donate the inferior ones to the local highschool. I feel guilty but they seem to appreciate them.
