It sounds like a regular Kazoo when plugged in to an amp with no effects and works nicely with overdrive to give it a raspy tone. The mike is removable so you can play with our without it, which is nice, but the cable seems thin, which just feels weird, but only 1/2 to 2/3 as thin as a typical 1/4" cable. The main thing is if you want a kazoo that can project, just buy this and hook it up to an amp as is gets the job done. Note: My Orchestral playing style is not why I have this. I am sorry for kill your curiosity.

The Hummbucker is a great product. It's very well constructed and sounds great. The 15' thin cord works great - a full-size cord would be too heavy. The best thing is that the pick-up has a small jack so you can plug in any cord you want. The pick-up can be easily removed so you can use a different kazoo and share it with others. When you plug it in to some effects and an amp it can sound really cool and loud. It would be a lot of fun for a young rocker, or a whole new sound for someone with experience. For this price, it's a great deal. And it ROCKS!

this item broke way too fast. the cable is super skinny. i accidentally stepped on the cable while using it and it was all over. it should not have broken that easily. i step on my guitar cables all the time and it doesn't kill them. i was left with just a kazoo and even that stopped working after using it for a couple hours. it didn't physically break but it stopped sounding like a kazoo and i couldn't fix it because you can't take the top off. i wish i had just bought one of those cool metal grover trophy kazoos instead and maybe a decent mic to go with it.
