Product Description
M Audio
The DMP3 isn't just any two-channel microphone/instrument preamp. M-Audio's design team embarked on a mission to combine years of experience with the finest components in order to bring you an impressive blend of high quality and affordable price. Whether you use it live or in the studio, the DMP3 is one of those pieces of gear destined to be integral in defining your sound. An astounding frequency response of 20Hz to 100kHz makes the DMP3 ideal for today's 96k recording work, and the perfect companion for the M-Audio Delta line of PCI audio interface cards.
Product Overview and Specifications
Dual mic preamp / direct box

Any professional recording engineer will tell you that quality microphone/instrument preamps are just as important as the microphones themselves. Unfortunately, the preamps found in most affordable mixers don't do justice to the rest of your gear. and most high-quality preamps cost more than your computer. That's why we made the affordable new DMP3.

The DMP3 works great for my home studio. I have an SM57 and a MXL 990 I use through the it and it sounds good with both of them. It also functions well as a guitar pre-amp going directly from the guitar to DMP3 to soundcard/board. It's very easy to use. The sound is very CLEAN and QUIET with good presence. I liked the sound better than most of the solid state amps I've used. Works decent with bass guitar. You'll have to EQ for fatness because the DMP3 doesn't add any fatness to the sound. No gripes at all. It does what I need it to do well and it was inexpensive.

If you need lots of clean gain, with little color, for under $100 per channel, this is the only game in town IMO. Beats the "tube" preamps hands down.
