Inexpensive and Does the Job

This Midi controller is ideal for the New York apartment-living music writer. It is small and doesn't take up as much space as a regular keyboard and it excellent for the price. It's nothing fancy but if you are looking for a basic tool for writing this is it. One thing I like about it is that it is powered by USB so it cuts down on the amount of messy cords lying around. My only complaint is that the weighted key action is a little stiff.

There aren't the bells and whistles some MIDI keyboards have but the overall feel is superb. I love the key action on this keyboard. The keys don't feel like those flimsy crap ones you see so often. When I first got it I was amazed at the quality semi-weighted feel at this price point. One black key makes a slight springy sound but it doesn't affect it otherwise or show up in the recording so it's a minor complaint. I wasn't expecting as much as what I got for this price. My buddy tried mine and now I looks like he wants one!! The build quality, etc, seems very good. Keep it up M-Audio!

For the price, you cannot do any better . I have played for many years. I love the feel. I would feel comfortable practicing on this keyboard and translating my performance to any piano. This is a perfect project studio keyboard. It has the sensitivity and feel of a piano with the benifits of a solid synth, great job M-Audio.
