Product Overview and Specifications
Marshall MGIII Series

Utilizing radical new technologies, the new MG Series raises the sonic and performance standards of value-for-money guitar amplifiers. The exclusive FDD (Frequency Dependant Damping) technology accurately mimics the way an all-valve amp interacts with a loudspeaker, giving the MGs a width of sound never before possible in affordable, non-valve amps. All models feature a CD input, emulated Headphone jack and Line Out jack.

I've had this amp for about 3 years now and it hasn't dissapointed me yet. The clean channel sounds great with a strat or telley, and sounds even fuller and slightly breaks up with humbuckers. The clean/crunch option on the clean channel is my only complaint the crunch is a very cheap sounding distortion that i've never used once for playing, but otherwise the clean channel sounds great a lot of people compliment me on how good it sounds. The overdrive channel covers pretty much any type of distortion you want; on the OD1 setting you can easily get Bluesey sounds, with more gain you can get Zeppelin distortion and with the gain and volumes maxed out you get the classic roar of a Marshall JCM 800. The OD2 setting just doubles the gain and pumps out a huge roaring high-gain distortion with the contour cranked up that will make you metal-heads smile. With the contour set at about halfway with the gain set about 3/4 of the way on OD2 you get great lead distortion and it's great for rock and hard rock songs. Other features on this amp are the digital effects which sound good, especially the chorus. Buy a pedal if you want more tweak-able reverb, delay, or flanger sounds. Buy this amp it's great for gigging and practicing!

I've been using it for awhile now....and it keeps getting better n better. The fdd....really sounds like a tube amp. Great od1 n od2 channel. you can even use the crunch mode...works well if you slap in an overdrive pedal(DOD, BOSS, etc, etc). If you're looking for a good budget 100watt amp.....Well...check it out!!
