MCS Cymbal Sets are harmonically matched by determining the best weight selection. The hats are medium heavy for greater "chick" sound. The crashes are medium thin for a fast attack and the ride is medium heavy for a cutting ping and controlled wash. This MCS cymbal set includes a 20 inch ride, 16 inch crash, a pair of 14 inch hi hat cymbals plus a FREE 16 inch Classic Series China cymbal!
  • 20" medium ride
  • 14" medium hi-hats
  • 16" medium crash
  • FREE 14" Filter China

Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China
The MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China contains 14" medium hi-hats, a 16" medium crash, a 20" medium ride, plus a Filter China. They are all specially harmonically matched for the most musical sound.

Created with the B8 alloy of 92 percent copper, 8 percent tin (plus traces of silver) for bright, rich, laser-clear sound quality.

The Free 14" Filter China cymbal provides a fast, sharp, and almost sinister sound. Quieter than most Chinas, it has a short sustain due to the waved edge.

New within the MCS cymbals family is the new and improved ride cymbal bell. Most remarkably, a new look is achieved due to a capillary fine lathing process that sets the bell apart from the rest of the cymbal's surface. This highly technical lathing process results in a clearer and more projecting bell sound.

A deep lathing groove is applied on to the cymbal's surface, remarkably reducing its thickness and weight. This results in a quicker response and enables the sound to unfold much easier. Along with precise hammering patterns, the new MCS cymbals set the standard in this price range.

"Saying 'fantastic for the price' makes cymbals out to be entry level. These aren't."

I was shocked (and rather annoyed) that the 16" crash had performance almost completely parallel to my Sabian Pro-Sonix 16" crash - there's a saving nobody wants to miss! As for the hi-hats they sound great, and they have crispness and warmth that outranks my old brass Zildjian Planet Zs any day. The ride is also great - very balanced and with a fantastically defined bell tone that cuts through any music. The body gives bright, well defined stick tones with every hit (providing the very edge is not used as the playing surface, as things tend to get very washy). You'll probably want to hear about how these cymbals stand up to everyday playing. Well, I'm not exactly a soft hitter, and often become over-enthusiastic when it comes to playing metal and heavy rock (the cymbals do sound great for jazz and latin) and, apart from stick marks, there are absolutely no cracks or dents in my set, which I've had for almost a year. Anyway, to cut to the chase, don't be fooled by the price on this set, nor that they're B8 alloy. The German's at Meinl deserve more credit than they receive for making such great cymbal set-ups affordable to young players and/or those on a budget.

Don't even look at the price. These cymbals sound as professional as top of the line Zildjians. They cost less than the bottom of the line Zildjians! Buy these cymbals, you won't be disappointed!

Good set of cymbals beautiful to look at and they sound just about as good as they look a real steal if ever get a chance to play them they will not disappoint; somebody tried to buy them off me the first day. China just needs a little ware because it starts out gongish a ælil bit but it really adds volume to your set people will be looking to see what that was when you hit it just take the nut off and blast away it'll eventually give you the sound you desire. PEACE I've said too much - these cymbals are a Five hundred dollar set - better than Zildjian Armands give or take a point. I've got both sets so I know. PEACE 4real Chuck D loved them when I played for him.
