This is an excellent horn! I have just recently purchased one, and I am in love withit. The intonation is very good, with the only problem being the D and C above the bass staff being slighty flat, but are easily lipped up. The tone is rich, beautiful and soloistic, however it can blend well. All of the registers sing beautifully. The comestic design of the horn is great as well, being both asthetically pleasing with the silver finish and gold plated top and bottom valve caps, and ergonomically sound. The valve action can get slow if not oiled regularly, but it is fine otherwise. I wish I could try and find something to criticize with this horn, but it is awesome, and a the most horn you can get for your money. This horn is overlooked by many, but should not be. I have played a Willson 2900, 2950, yamaha 621, 321 (played in school band before this), the Besson 967, and the Meinl 451. It is a perfectly balanced horn and is free blowing, but not overly freeblowing. It has been a joy so far, and I look forward for many years with this horn! Props go to the fine designers at the Meinl Weston Company.
