This isn't bad for a starter kit. I think that this would be easier to review in an itemized list. -BB2 (Medium Yarn): Not a very good mallet. It gives almost a harsh sound to marimba playing. This also does not work at all on cymbals. It works marginally well on vibes. -BB8 (Medium Rubber): This mallet is well suited to marimba. It feels a bit heavy in the hand, but it gets the job done. -BB10 (PVC Xylo Mallet): This is hardly made for xylophone. It is quite similar to a plastic bell mallet, and works well as such. -BB12 (Brass Bell Mallet): This mallet is great. I get a sound on bells with a brass mallet that I prefer over the standard plastic sound! It is great. These can also be used on various auxillary percussion equipment. -T3 (General Timpani Mallet): This is a great mallet. It has a great feel and sound. -MBMP (Mallet Pouch):This is a rather well constructed pouch. It has room for a few more pairs of mallets or several pair of sticks. The only drawback here is the lack of organization. It is quite litterally one big pouch. So, the moral of the story is: Buy this for the timp mallets, the brass mallets, and the PVC mallets. The rest of the stuff is more or less a bonus!
