Miraphone 1291-5VC Series 5-Valve 5/4 CC TubaThe Miraphone 1291 5 Valve CC Tuba is a horn that does it all with a great sound and a great feel. It has a marvelous response through the entire range of the tuba. The low register on this CC Miraphone tuba is equal to playing the mid register on any other. The 1291 is a 4/4/ tuba that plays like a 6/4.The low register is so focused and easy to play in - you will not believe it.4/4 SizeBut 5/4 voice with a very nice sound.Great High RegisterBoth the low and high registers are smooth and there is an evenness of tone throughout the entire range of the instrument.Great IntonationThe Miraphone 1291 has been tested by many top players during the development stages and with their help the Miraphone engineers have really nailed down the intonation.

Within seconds (literally) of picking this up, I became hundred of times better. The high range sounds so beautiful, and the low notes are hit easily. The volume and resonation are astounding.
This is in my opinion the best all-around CC right now! It is great for any situation. I use this for chamber music, large orchestras and bands, and solo playing. The 1291 has an amazing low range and is very free-blowing in all registers. The sound that you make with tuba is wonderful and will force you to purchase it!
I like the Miraphone 1291 It is better than any other brand/model that I've played. Coming from a Cerveny 681, the 1291 has a bigger sound, it responds much more, and it is easier to play with a clean, open sound. I wasn't sure if I would like the piston valves, but since I have switched, I don't regret it. The only critique I have is that the hand position is a little awkward at first, but you get used to it. The 1291 is much easier to play. I was skeptical of the 5/4 compact, but it plays like any other 5/4. You can feel the vibrations through the horn as you play. This is a great tuba; definitely worth it!
I have purchased this horn within the past week and have not set it down. It's difficult...in my time playing the tuba, i have never played an instrument that produces such a deep, rich sound as well as this one does. I was a little uneasy to make the transition from rotary valves to piston, but after playing the pistons (which feel like butter), I have no regrets at all. I would highly advise anyone who's interested to try this horn.
Wow. This has got to be the best tuba I've ever played and I've played them all. I've played anything from Yamaha, Amati, King, Menial Weston, Conn, and Miraphone and this is an amazing horn. I started out looking for a horn about June of last year. And my private instructor had a Miraphone and I fell in love with it so I decided it would defiantly be a Miraphone no question. But then to decide whether to get a BBb or a CC because i played on BBb for 2years my instructor and everyone insisted me to get a CC because I can now play in symphonies and solo and anything else you can think of and honestly after playing my Miraphone the first night I was like wow....This horn is in a whole other league compared to the BBb tubas I've played in the past. Before I purchased my horn from a fellow off of Tubanet it was $6500 for a year old horn (silver) and a gig bag a silver polish and a tuba stand. And I got more then what I paid for I'll just put it that way. I mean intonation is almost perfect the low register(pedal notes) are so amazingly clear I've never played a horn with a low register like mine. But buy this horn it?s MORE than worth the money.
