Miraphone Tuba MouthpieceThe Miraphone Tuba Mouthpiece Series was designed to offer the player a mouthpiece for a great sound with less effort. The Miraphone tuba mouthpieces are often copied but rarely matched. Their designs get a great sound out of the horn, often with less work. The most famous of these is the spectacular C4. All silver plated except as indicated.

I used this mouthpiece for years on a Miraphone 186 and it worked well. However I think it is a little too mellow for that tuba and can let things above the staff drift a little flat. I use the Rose Orchestra, now, on my 6/4 CC. Overall, it does a good job; good volume, intonation, etc. The only thing on the CC that I don't like about it; when playing at an extremely loud volume the pitch rises quite a bit. Finally, I sometimes use it on F tuba because it has such a mellow sound in the mid range and a full low register (awesome intonation on my MW 45 with it), but when playing high the sound is very muffled.
I used it on a 186 and is the best mouthpice that I found.
This is the mouthpiece I suggest most of my students try because of the success I have had with this particular model. It is neither too big nor too small and helps the player produce a focused, clean sound and articulation. It's probably the most versatile mouthpiece I've used because it's not a "specialist" mouthpiece. You can do anything with it on any horn with great results.
