I love this stand! I needed a stand for gigging, especially a heavy-duty reliable, yet portable, stand. This stand did the trick! Very durable, and easy to set up. Great product.
Easel part is only 17" wide by 11" high, but it's about as big as you'd want to carry around all the time, vs. the full-size and full-weight regular stands. A good compromise with maximum stability and extends to a decent height. (I am 6' and I don't have to extend it all the way.) Way better than the open folding kind we've had around for forty years...
Very sturdy, light-weight, and adjustable. I especially like the fact that you can adjust the tilt of the stand, not just the height. Very much worth the money!!
I purchased this stand a few months ago and I love it. As other customers have mentioned, it is not as wide as a 'normal' music stand, but it is durable enough to hold a binder full of music and adequate for practicing. It doesn't fold down as small as what they'd have you think, but it compacts to the perfect size for your trunk. If you're looking for a great practice stand for a good price, this is it. I highly recommend it!
I bought this stand only a few months ago and it has had VERY light duty, just used a few times and that mostly at home. A plastic expansion ring broke and fell out and now it it impossible to adjust and tighten the stand. It won't hold even a book or two without sliding down to its lowest height. It is also not very portable and really awkward to take anywhere as the table has to be removed and then reattached (which is difficult). It is cheap for a reason. I couldn't recommend it to anyone, especially if you are going to haul it anywhere.
I bought this stand thinking it was very portable and that it would fold a bit smaller. It doesn't collapse as much as I had hoped and is a little bulky for transporting. It is a sturdy stand, however. I play outside most of the time and it stands up to the ocean winds.
I would recommend this stand for its sturdiness, but not for its ease of transport.
I ordered this stand and out of the box it did not work, the stand did not extend to the height that I wanted it to be, and it does not extend at all I kept the stand because i did not want to go through the hassle of returning it and I use it but the stand does not work as advertised
I ordered this stand because of it's price. It's not really worth it... Right out of the box it doesnt work as advertised. There's no instructions for assembly and the stand may extend up, but it doesnt stay at the desired height.. merely falls back down. I'd go with another brand/type.
This stand is quite awkward to carry around. The legs do indeed fold up along side the shaft, but these measure at least 27 inches in length. The easel must be unbolted and carried separately. Then to set up the stand, you must unfold the legs, place the stand on its legs, and bolt the easel to the top of the shaft. The bolt is rather small and I imagine it would be easy to lose it. So take extra care to store it where you can retrieve it.
I was told to purchase stands at the best possible price for my school. 4 star reviews worked for me. Now, after a year, a bunch of the rivets that hold the stand to the upright are loose, causing the stands to rock. Of the 50 we own, maybe half are good anymore.
