In the Music Community

The annual gathering of Ohio music educators took place in downtown Cincinnati from January 27th through January 29th, 2011. Educators from across the state took advantage of the close proximity of the sessions, performance venues, and exhibit halls to fill their day from beginning to end.

The extensive list of sessions the educators could attend was very well rounded focusing not only on upper age-level performance topics, but also including elementary music, orchestra, and choir in the lineup. Once the educators found their way to the large exhibit area, they were able to mix and mingle with vendors from across the music industry including tour operators, musical instrument manufacturers, and retail music stores such as The Woodwind & Brasswind.

Conveniently located in the very first isle, educators paid a visit to the familiar Woodwind & Brasswind booth throughout the convention commenting about the excellent service they received from their school rep, or the great price one of their students received on a recent saxophone purchase. At events like this, it's a treat to hear from so many people that are friends and customers over the years. Of special note, one of the most popular products on display was the Vic Firth EP2 Intermediate Education pack featuring four pairs of essential sticks and mallets – perfect for a high school percussionist.

Thank you to those educators who took time to swing by the Woodwind & Brasswind booth, we appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you at the next Ohio Music Education Conference in Columbus, February 16-18, 2012.
