I use a 7* with a 2.5 Vandoren V16 reed. I have more practice to do in order to become totally accustomed to, but I can already tell it's a mp I can grow with. I have an old Italian soprano sax that I received, new, in 1975 - Brittany. But it does get a great sound, especially with a good mp. I find that the altissimos are easier and cleaner with my Otto Link than with my Selmer S80 C*. I also get a lot more projection (obviously). It's too bright, however, with the stock ligature. The altissimos were annoying/obnoxious that way. But with a Rovner dark ligature, the altissimos sound great.

I have been using the Ottolink metal alto sax (size 6) for 3 years and promise to get the mpc and the size for my soprano. Finally I got it. The sound was so great. I love it just as how I love the alto sax mpc. But I didn’t like the ligature; it wasn’t gripping like that of the alto sax.

Fantastic finish and a wonderful tone. Good intonation and color throughout the range. A little pinched in the upper register. I use an 8* with Rico Royal Jazz Select 3S reed. Stock ligature is not the best, will be trying a few others.
