At our school, we use all Paiste products in the gong department. I have used this mallet on many occasions and simply love it. It brings out very nice tones from our gong and is very balanced. What I personally like best about this mallet is that even when you strike the gong hard, you still cannot hear the impact of the mallet, just the gong ringing. A lot of individuals might think that the price for this mallet is rather steep, but Paiste uses premium materials in the making of their gong mallets. Another plus is that the handle isn't wood; it's steel. No more concern about breaking the mallet in two. All around the best quality mallet for tam-tams and gongs alike. Will work well with every gong 20 inches and above.
