Parduba Trombone MouthpieceThe Original Parduba Mouthpieces (Double-Cup)Gives you two mouthpieces in one.The scientific reaming of the top cup furnishes the shallow cup which is necessary to secure the extreme high tones and they come with the greatest of ease, G a bad tone for many performers, comes true. High Bb comes as effortless and with as great volume as G is ordinarily produced. Compares to Bach 15C and Schilke 46The extreme high tones, which occur occasionally in ordinary music and frequently in solo playing or in difficult passages, are produced more easily and with full volume because the shallow upper cup puts them within reach by increasing the performers range. This is accomplished with the Parduba Double-Cup Mouthpiece without sacrificing tone quality or volume in the middle and lower registers because the lower part of the cup is of the regular conventional bore.

I am a professional jazz trumpet player & sometimes play a song on my valve trombone. I had been using the very old "Al Cass" doubler mouthpiece, (which hasn't been made since the 50's?) because it did not make my chops puffy, & I could go right back to my trumpet. I wanted to get my Al Cass doubler mouthpiece copied because the plating is gone but custom mouthpiece companies wanted $350 or more to copy it. This new mouthpiece "Parduba 3 Star" was under $70 & playes so much better. It gives you better lows & higher range with twice the tone & ease of playing. Keep in mind that the rim on this is just a bit bigger then the rim on a trumpet mouthpiece, but not really a big deal. I highly recommend this piece if you are a trumpet player who doubles on a trombone, baritone horn or bass trumpet. 5 Stars *****
I purchased this mouthpiece a couple years ago. It was a mistake. The mouthpiece takes a while to get use to, and even then your low range suffers. Anything below a Eb in the staff sounds stuffy. Every note is played extremely bright and the range increase (for me) was just by one note, and that's where it limited me to, that note. I ended up being able to play higher more easily on my 6 1/2 AL. If you are looking for a bright, stuffy sound, then this is for you. If not, pass by it.
The description doesn't say it but this is a small shank. I ordered from sales by phone and was assured it was large shank but it isn't.
The sound is good though but I can't use it.
