I bought this about a year ago as a replacement for my plastic student oboe and I love it! I went to the store and tried a few different ones out including Bulgheroni and the granadilla version of the Evoluzione. I ultimately chose the rosewood for its beautiful sound and playability but when I opened the case it took my breath away. This instrument is gorgeous. I get a lot of compliments on it and many oboe players say they have never seen rosewood that color before. I learned that Patricola actually ages the wood the full time instead of using a machine like other companies and I think that makes a big difference. After the initial breaking in period it was so easy to play and after about a month with this instrument I could not play my plastic one anymore. This is an absolutely amazing instrument!
