Patricola Evoluzione Professional Oboe
Patricola Brothers oboes are a handmade Italian oboe that are common professional instruments and are found in major symphonies all across the world. The Patricola PT.1 S6 Evoluzione is one such professional oboe, equipped with the semi-automatic system, also featuring silver-plated keys, a double F key (left hand F) and double low C key. It has a 3rd octave key, forked F resonance key, low C to C# and low B to C# trill keys, C to Eb trill, C to E trill ring, Ab-Bb trill key, G#-A trill key, and independent connection from low B to low C.

Made with selected Mozambique grenadilla wood or Brazilian rosewood naturally seasoned for about eleven/thirteen years. It is characterized by fine intonation, a lightly dark and controlled tone with powerful, free sound emission. It is also notoriously easy to play.

While looking for a new oboe (coming from a used but good Loree), I tried everything I could get my hands on. The Marigaux was too sweet, Yamaha a little hard to control, Fossatti not stable enough, Bulgheroni kind of thin, and Lorees felt too resistant. I tried the Patricola on a hunch (I'd never seen or heard one before), and sold my Loree as soon as I played the first few notes. Wonderful, even, scale that requires no favoring. Superb craftsmanship in the wood and keys. Tone is warm but projects, and the biggest thing is just the easy, comfortable feel that you have to experience to understand. I just play better on it because I'm not thinking about the horn (if only I could get reeds that played this well). Including some staples and accessories was a nice touch. I was very impressed all the way around and intend for this instrument to last me another 10 years like the last one. And the price was a nice bonus!

It is a very beautiful instrument it has the sound of an angel. It is a better choice to have gold keys but that?s alright. The instrument is very well played in chamber groups and orchestras. Buy from here you will NOT regret it.

This is the best oboe I have ever tried. The only one better that I have owned is a Laubin, but those are $6-7000. For the money and the quality of a hand made instrument this is by far my favorite. The tone is perfect (especially for a A440). There is a clear deep rich sound and because the wood is aged, it won't crack as easily as a Loree. This is one of the best oboes out there and I am a professional oboist in the NY, Phil area and I would give 2 thumbs up for this awesome piece of art.

I couldn't believe the response of this oboe. I tried many brands and styles, but I kept coming back to this professional model. Not only is the rosewood gorgeous, but the sound is sweet, round, full, and fluid. The scale is very even, meaning that the low notes are just as easy as the high notes. I recommend this oboe to anyone who is wanting to go forward in their muscial studies!

I was lucky enough to actually go to WWBW and spent 4 hours trying top oboes. I've had a Laubin for 33 years and had a Loree for 2 years. I've had the Patricola now for 8 months and love it. The tone is centered and stable. It is easy to hit the low b, bflat at piano. The air moves through the instrument easily and produces the best sound of all the oboes I've played. A major bonus is that the keys of the right hand are set slightly closer together, which makes it much easier for me. I am a female with medium to large hands. The lie of the keys under the right hand is really a major point for anyone who plays enough that overuse injuries become an issue. PLUS, the rosewood, (which I chose) has a lovely sound, and talk about comments in orchestras, band, and solo work!
