The Montreal Drum Line has 11 Championship FFX white snares. We like the sound. If it's good enough for the Cadels then it's good enough for us. Thanks
I have a 14x12 one not much difference but it is awesome I have a Remo White Max on top and the factory head still on bottom and it sounds great. You have to play on the head for a while to break it in so it will sound good. It will still sound good when u put it on but it will sound better as you play on it. Tip: get a sound projector makes it louder and sound even better. You might need to use something to stop a little ring in it like an Evans Staccato Disk.
This snare is a great instrument. I bought the 13 in, because I didn?t have a lot of money to blow, and it is sweet. I got it in the pure white, and I put a Remo Blackmax head on it, and it looks and sounds good. It comes with a drum key and stuff and I?ve got it cranked up really tight. It makes a nice crack, but then a thud at the same time. Great sound, great price, great looks, do I have to say anything else? BUY THIS DRUM!!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!
I have played many different type and sizes of marching snares and I have found that the Pearl FFX was my favorite. I am fond of the 13"X 11", because of its light weight; it makes performance go a lot smoother. I march sling so a heavy drum does a job not only on the person playing but the sling itself. All and all I have to say, pearl really is the best.
A great Drum!!! My drum teacher owns it and we play it at lessons and it has a crisp sound in which you can actually hear the snares! You can tune it very tight as well as you can tune a little loser, and lower. A REALLY GOOD DRUM!!!!
