Pearl has really made a great product. Get a couple of these and you'll never have to waste your sticks to the rim of your snare ever again and still get the sound. I use Yellow (medium pitch) and orange (low pitch). Get a consistent and loud sound with every hit, every time! I think the Low pitch sounds mostly like a wood block, while the medium pitch sounds more like a rim shot. These things are SOLID. You could hit them with a hammer and they won't break! They will outlast your kit for sure! Definitely outlast a wood block!!!
