Sacrifices security for tonality

Comments about Pearl Flutes 765 Quantz Coda Professional Flute:

I have been playing the flute for 3 years and have been in honor recitals and benifits across Maryland. I have had this flute for 1 1/2 years now and I can say it's not a bad instrument, however, This flute greatly sacrifices security for tonality. In other words it has a magnificent sound but the sound is very hard to control. In my orchestra me, and the other flutists tried out our instruments and one of their flutes had an ok sound but amazing control far better than this flute. I also went to a local flute fair and the flutes they had there in this price range had much better tone control. One of the flutists who tried out my instrument said it is very hard to play but sounds so much better than thier flute. This flute is great with all it's features like split E and C# trill and is a great bargain. I do not reccomend this flute for any student stepping up thier instrument as they would probably struggle with thier sound. This would be a great instrument for someone who has been playing flute for awhile and wants a great sounding instrument who doesnt mind having a little difficulty trying not to crack or sound a little sharp/flat.

Best sound out of five tested

Comments about Pearl Flutes 765 Quantz Coda Professional Flute:

My daughter has been playing for 3 and 1/2 years. Two times All-City (so far). Her private teacher recommended a new flute but let us decide which one we wanted. She played five different silver flutes including a couple of Anniversary models which we liked, but the entire family agreed the sound on this model was fuller, richer. She had no trouble adapting to the different feel of the keys and we are really looking forward to her next concert after she has had some practice time with this instrument.
