I have been playing guitar for about three years and then some, I have played many different types of amps and just nothing at can nearly come close to the raw crunch sound of this amp. The only thing that I didn't fall in love with was the clean, lets just say its not its strong point, but hey if youre going to be playing hardcore, metal, rock psh you dont need clean!

I've owned a lot of different heads, and this one is by far the best of them all....if you use the right stuff with it. The best way that I have found to run it is like this...Your guitar (best with EMG's) into a Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer. Then into the high gain input. In the effects loop run a BBE Sonic Stomp into a ISP Decimator and then back to the return...if you run any effects put them in line before the BBE. Sound will be best if run through a Mesa Recto 4x12 or a Marshall 1960A cab. Also, it seems to sound best with Mesa 6L6 tubes. This thing has amazing tone for any style.

As expected, the go-to amp for tons of metal and hardcore guitarists. I play through a Jackson DK-2, with a Mastertone SPA hum in the bridge, and two EMG-SA's in middle and neck, and a Kelly celestion equipped cab, and I couldn't be happier with the crushing distortion and soaring leads. The clean channel got dirty at higher volumes, but sounded quite good with effects.
What surprised me most about this amp, was when my Dad plugged his '72 Gibson Les Paul Standard in. Perfect cleans, and an awesome, hot blues tone. This amp is much more versatile than one would imagine, if you experiment with your axe selection.

Amazing all tube amp that will destroy anything in terms of gain. The tone is great and the amp is loud enough to deafen anyone at a hundred yards. The rhythm channel can be used to try to get a clean sound but it's not ever clean. Don't buy this amp for clean but for annihilation.
