For a solid-state amp this thing is good. The clean channel is very good but be warned: do NOT put a distortion box through this amp. The distortion channel is once again good for a solid state amp but only at like 1 or 2. anything higher then that and the thing just HUMS like crazy and the sound worsens as you push the amp.
I have had this amp for a year now and it has been flawless. Amazing tone. I have had no problems with it. Very sturdy, very solid construction. I just bought another one tonight so I could have one at home and one at the place where my band practices. And it is plenty loud! You will have no sound restrictions for no matter how big of a venue you are playing. I highly suggest it if you are looking for a reliable great sounding amp for under $500. You will not be disappointed.
This is an amazing amp. 3 lead channels and 2 clean channels.Brill amp and very loud.
Has many great sounds from warm jazz to in-your-face hardcore. Comes at a low price and is deffinatly a great deal. There is only one minor problem- this amp has alot of background buzz (when gain is medium to high)which does not change your sound when playing but becomes annoying between songs.
I've been playing on this amp for two years, and it has held up flawlessly. It's seen upwards of around 8 gigs and countless hours of practice. I don't use it for shows anymore, as it has been replaced by a twin reverb, but I was so attached to it I decided to keep it for practices. The Bandit does everything and the sound is amazing for a solid state 112. The two channels will take you from jazz to thrash metal, and every stop in between. The clean channel is excellent, and holds its own next to my twin reverb. It features a vintage/modern voicing switch; no they are not separate channels, they are simply different voicing. The vintage puts more emphasis on punchy lows and sharp highs, while the modern provides a more contoured sound. The lead channel also provides a number of different voicing: vintage, modern, and high gain. The vintage, my personal favorite, gives you those "brown" tones, similar to the sounds of a 1959 Marshall 100 watt Plexi and great for classic rock. The modern voicing provides a highly distorted, scooped sound that rivals a dual rectifier, and provides good thrash sounds. The high gain voicing provides loads of distortion, and a fat sound with crunchy mids, big bottom and loud highs, similar to that of a Marshall jcm 800. The master channel has a reverb control, presence, which controls the articulation of high frequencies, a resonance switch, which when switched to loose allows the speaker to resonate more, providing the sound of a larger cabinet, and a t-dynamics control. The t-dynamics controls the over-all power of the amp, allowing you to keep your tone at any volume. The amp also features a convenient two-button footswitch, an effects loop, pre amp input jack, which bypasses the amp's pre amp, and an external speaker jack, for sending the preamp signal to an 8-ohm external cabinet, such as a 4-12. The amp is all in all, an excellent and extremely versatile amp for its price.
