The Aurora was Philtone’s first alto mouthpiece design. For more than a decade, alto players have enjoyed its full-bodied sound. While not a Meyer copy per se, it is reminiscent of that famous tonal vibe.
This mouthpiece is able to take a full airstream without breaking up or becoming harsh. The palm keys are never thin and the lows are full, warm and round. The Aurora provides an expressive upper register while inviting you to explore its robust low end, which flows effortlessly. The Aurora shines equally well as a section blender or as a lead combo piece.
