Comments about Plasti Lyre Saxophone Lyre:
I've been using this lyre for about two years in High School. There isn't much to say because, face it, it is a five dollar lyre that you pull out once every two weeks. I'll say what I can. The picture is very misleading. The lyre holds the music out at least four inches in front of where it is attached, most lyres the distance is half of that. It makes it much easier for other people to read off of (the lazy folk who don't have lyres), but the extra distance makes the music folder seem heavier, and it likes to force the screw to undo itself and it becomes wobbly after a short period of time. All you have to do is tighten your screw with your fingers though. I'll just say that it has a tendency to fall out if you aren't aware. Players with corrective glasses may like this because of the fact the music is farther from your eyes than other lyres. The plastic clip is fine, it snaps into place easy. It isn't going to bend like metal ones, but if you make heavy use of it I can see it cracking.
