Comments about Pomarico Jazz Series Crystal Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:
This mouthpiece is not a screamer. It will not cut through the section. But it has a nice clear sound with easy altissimo. I bought this piece to use for my soft gigs with fine diners at the bistro. However, now I also use it for louder gigs as well. All I have to do is turn up the mike volume a little more and it sounds just as good as any contemporary mouthpiece. It does not have a full pallet of sound color like a hard rubber mouthpiece is capable of, but it can be played warm and beautifully and at least up to F# one octave beyond without choking. The tip openings are all very wide for alto so you may need some 1 or 1.5 reeds. But overall it's a good buy for me.
