This horn has a great sound though it needed springs adjusted, because Key tension was uneven. Though on a Plus side it’s a great horn for this money and it has great tone. It also allows me to reach all the way down to low B without locking my fingers up because I'm double jointed.

I bought this as an extra saxophone to spare my Selmer Mark VII the wear and tear of commuting, etc... I've been using this horn during rehearsals and for practicing as well. I haven't noted any problems with intonation. I do notice slight differences in a couple of notes in the middle, though, but not a major issue for me. I think it's an excellent student horn. It feels a lot more comfortable in my hands than the old Leblanc Vito Tenors from my era, which felt cumbersome as I have small hands. No adjustment was needed when I received this horn, either. Played right out of the box with a nice strong low Bb. Also, it's not flimsy as a few cheaper horns have proven to be. Case is sturdy and it feels lighter than my other tenors w/ their cases.

Until now I've been playing Yamaha YAS 61 - alto, it is perfect for jazz, but not pop. For pop I bought Conn-Selmer tenor horn, it does the job. Has nice sound, easy to play, Perfect intonation even in lower register (Bb, B, and C). The only disadvantages are - included mouthpiece, and rubber "bumpers" on the keys (C, Eb) it is going to be replaced and I will have great Sax.

I am a high school jazz band graduate that has purchased this sax so that I could continue a loved hobby. As all the reviews state it is not the top of the line, yet it does get the job done. It possesses a great amount of projection through all of its keys (this is with an NY Otto link 6*) and can give vary fast action, as well as crisp accents. However, note that it has a vary wide key placement and a child many have a problem with fingering. Along with this, the neck on mine is quite tight for the body, this can be fixed with cork or slide grease. Regardless of these things, an advancing high school student may find the Prelude to be a good option for obtaining a semiprofessional sounding sax. Another characteristic that gives this tenor a sharp sound is that it possesses metal resonators on its pads (thought it should be noted).
