These sticks are great. I got them as a Christmas present this past year. I used to have a pair of Vic Firth's and I came to find out that the Pro-Mark 5B's are excellent when you want thicker sound on your drums. I generally use them for rock rhythms and I am very happy with the sound they produce. The only thing that disappointed me was when I got them and I started to break them in, I got splinters in my hands, but other than that, I have to say that as a first time percussionist, I love them and expect more good stuff from Pro-Mark.
