Propellerhead Strings Refill
Propellerhead Strings Refill is a high-quality sound collection of live-played strings turned into Dr. Rex loops and NN19 sampler patches. This ReFill adds exciting flavors to the already powerful Reason program with both solo instruments and ensemble material. All string phrases have been edited in Propellerhead's ReCycle program, which means that both tempo and pitch can be changed seamlessly for each loop. The ReCycle Rex file format also allows complete reorganization of the music phrases in Reasons Dr. Rex editor, all in total real-time.

Note: ReFills do not work in standalone—they require a full version of Reason to operate. (See “What is a ReFill below)

Try using one of the 288 Rex loops, add a few choice notes with the NN19 sampler patches, and you'll experience a brand new side of Reason. All Rex music loops are rhythmic in their character and ideally suited for R'n'B, pop, rock, hip hop or any music with a drum beat.
The recording sessions for these samples took place in Documentary Studio, Moscow—originally designed as a cinema for Stalin but acoustically perfect for the purpose of orchestral recordings. A total of 23 musicians were involved in the recording sessions, spanning over 2 weeks and ranging from complete orchestral/quartet string recordings to individual instruments.
The NN19 patches can only be used in Reason but the 288 Rex files have been provided in a folder outside the Reason Refill for use in other compatible applications such as Steinberg's Cubase VST. All loops and sounds can be used license free and as all other Propellerhead products, Strings is both Mac & Windows compatible.

What is a ReFill?

Even if you haven't come across the term ReFill before, as a Reason user you most likely use ReFills daily. All sounds, patches, loops and grooves included with Reason come in ReFill format, as both the Factory and Orkester Sound Banks are ReFills.

When using ReFills with Reason, you can load patches for any of the devices included in Reason, as well as REX files, samples in WAV or AIFF format, MIDI files and Reason song files.

One advantage of containing sounds in ReFills is that audio samples are compressed to about half their original file size when stored in ReFills, with no loss of audio quality. Samples contained in ReFills also load faster in Reason.
